📢 I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Buffalo who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our readers to local businesses they need to know. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top stories in Buffalo today:

  1. The Buffalo Board of Education responds to the no-confidence vote, saying they are working to stabilize the district budget first so that they can give teachers fair compensation. Half the teachers in the district voted no-confidence in Superintendent Tonja Williams. Contract negotiations are set to continue today. For more information, visit Spectrum Local News.
  2. So far, 36 NYS Cannabis dispensary licenses have been approved, and none of them are in Western NY. The first licenses being approved are for Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensaries, acronymed to CAURD. Growers and possessors are currently urged to continue waiting for CUARD licensed shops to open before turning to illicit shops. Learn more at WKBW 7.
  3. Charles Dickens “Great Expectations” is currently playing at the Irish Classical Theatre Company, and its getting great reviews! Melinda Miller of The Buffalo News praises it for being a clever adaptation with close intention to details in all ways. Read more of her thoughts at The Buffalo News and check out the play this weekend.
  4. With all the illness going around, shelves are being depleted of liquid children’s acetaminophen and liquid children’s Motrin. Dr. Kathleen Grisanti, the president and medical director of the Pediatric & Adolescent Urgent Care of Western New York, is suggesting liquid ibuprofen for children over six months. Other alternatives are unbundling children and lukewarm sponge baths. Read more at Spectrum Local News.
  5. The NFTA is partnering with the WNY Urban Arts Collective to create Black History month displays. Local artists are encouraged to submit designs celebrating Black excellence that will be showcased on busses during the month of February. Submissions are due December 22nd. Find out more at WIVB 4.

From our sponsor:

Are you a Buffalo resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market? Consider fine art. Masterworks is the award-winning platform helping 575,000+ invest in works by the same world-renowned artists that are coveted by ultra-wealthy collectors and major museums alike (think Picasso, Basquiat, and Banksy.) Masterworks splits these multi-million dollar works into shares, so you can invest without breaking the bank.

Contemporary art has outpaced the stock market by a whopping 131% over the last 26 years. Seven of Masterworks’ eight sold paintings gave their investors a +17.8% net returns*.

Best of all, as a trusted partner, Buffalo Patch readers can skip their waitlist to join.
