Every year fans look forward to watching fun-filled Christmas movies. These types of movies are often cute, sappy, and adorable to watch, but there are some movies that are just better left avoided. Christmas movies should be ones that are enjoyable to watch, not ones that the audience becomes so bored with that they turn it off halfway through.

10/10 12 Dates Of Christmas Was Too Drawn-Out

The earlier film Groundhog Day inspired the plot line of 12 Dates of Christmas. The two significant differences are that it takes place on Christmas and showcases a female lead.

Kate must learn to embrace Christmas Eve and fate; thus, she must live through the same day twelve times. 12 Dates of Christmas was a boring film which made it feel slow and drawn-out to viewers. The audience found the characters flat and hard to relate to, making this one of the worst romantic Christmas movies.

In order to avoid criticism, Gertrude kidnaps David and takes him on a weekend away with her family. Gertrude has her family believe that David is, in fact, her boyfriend. Christmas Do-Over was nothing more than another Groundhog Day film. Kevin attempts to be part of his ex-wife’s and son’s Christmas. His son wishes that every day is Christmas, so Kevin is forced to relive the holiday over and over again until he eventually gets it right.

Viewers found Christmas Do-Over to be full of nonsense, poorly scripted, and not worth watching. Kevin somehow wins over his ex-wife, despite not truly learning anything after living Christmas Day on repeat. Christmas Do-Over lacked plot and character growth, making it one of the worst romantic Christmas movies.

7/10 Holidate Was Predictable

Holidate is different from the rest in the sense that it is not as cliché as the rest. Two strangers are fed up with being single for the holidays; thus, they agree to be each other’s platonic holiday date all year long.

Predictably enough, they begin to catch feelings for one another. Many viewers considered this film to be a terrible, cheesy film that wasn’t worth watching. Holidate had a few comical moments and was labeled as amusing to watch, but it didn’t offer much more value to the audience.

6/10 The Knight Before Christmas Was Too Cliché

Sir Cole taking Brooke for a stroll on horseback in The Knight Before Christmas.

The Knight Before Christmas was somewhat different from other Christmas movies as it involved a time-traveling knight from medieval times. This film is otherwise full of clichés. Brooke is befriended by the knight, Sir Cole, and they work together to complete his mysterious quest.

5/10 Christmas Inheritance Had A Decent Start & A Poor Ending

Ella smiling at the camera in Christmas Inheritance.

Christmas Inheritance is not as cheery and full of holiday spirit as other Christmas movies. Instead, Christmas Inheritance tells a story of a spoiled daughter, Ella, who must earn her spot as CEO of her father’s company.

Ella has good intentions throughout the whole movie, yet she is constantly treated unwell and talked down to throughout the majority of the film. Christmas Inheritance had a decent start with a poor ending. The film is cliché as the big city girl finds herself in a small town where she meets the supposed love of her life.

4/10 A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby Ruined The Trilogy

Queen Amber and King Richard in A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.

Fans were rather disappointed with the final film of A Christmas Prince trilogy. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby lacked many of the enjoyable aspects of the first two films. The film had no real plot to follow, which made the audience bored for most of the movie.

This movie felt more forced than anything. The actors seemed to have become tired of their roles which resulted in poor acting. The end result of A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby was nothing more than a poor end to a decently enjoyable trilogy.

3/10 Princess Switch: Switched Again Didn’t Need More

Fionna, Duchess Margaret, and Stacy in The Princess Switch: Switched Again.

The Princess Switch was enough, and fans agreed that it did not need to happen a second time. The Princess Switch: Switched Again had a boring story that had viewers stopping the movie halfway through. Adding a second look alike to Duchess Margaret ruined the movie as it lacked the same comedic vibe of the first film.

2/10 Christmas Wedding Planner Was A Disaster

The Christmas Wedding Planner was chaotic, which allowed it to hold some of the audience’s attention. The film is unlike other Christmas movies as it is not the same old lovey-dovey romantic holiday movie most people enjoy.

Rather, Christmas Wedding Planner had a lot going on, as Connor, a private investigator, seemingly disrupts everything as Kelsey is working hard to plan her cousin’s wedding. Even after turning her whole world upside down, Connor is still able to steal Kelsey’s heart. Viewers considered Christmas Wedding Planner to be awful and one of the worst romantic Christmas movies ever produced.

1/10 Four Christmases Was Full Of Awkward Scenes

Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn in Four Christmases.

Kate and Brad plan a trip to Fiji for the holiday, but predictably enough, this doesn’t happen. Instead, the couple must visit each of their parents all in one day. Four Christmases held potential, but it’s too awkward due to the lack of chemistry between characters and the film’s failed attempts at comical scenes.

The movie turned out to be one awkward scene after another. Four Christmases was full of well-known actors who did not prevent the film from becoming the worst romantic Christmas movie to be released.
