Alex Drummond’s elegant ranch wedding was nothing short of magical—but it didn’t come together overnight! After The Pioneer Woman’s oldest daughter first got engaged to her now-husband Mauricio, she had exactly nine months to plan the wedding of her dreams. For Alex, that was the “perfect amount of time.”
“Had just enough time to do everything but wouldn’t have wanted to be engaged/plan for anyyyyy longer if that makes sense,” she explained on Instagram.
With the help of their wedding planner, Alex and Mauricio were able to prioritize all the details they cared about most: the ceremony, flowers, photography, food menu, band, and guest list. (Plus their dreamy honeymoon, which Mauricio put together on his own!)
It was certainly overwhelming at times, but Alex came up with a simple way to stay grounded throughout the entire planning process.

“Whenever I would find myself starting to get stressed, I would try to take a step back and remember that I’M GETTING MARRIED TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE and we get to start our lives together!!!!” she explained. “That is going to happen on my wedding day, whether everything goes perfectly or not!”
Luckily, everything did go perfectly! Well, almost. During Alex’s Instagram wedding Q&A, a follower asked if she has any regrets from their big day, and she gave an honest answer about the one detail she missed.

“Somehow ordering a guest book fell through the cracks for me until it was too late and it didn’t come in time,” Alex admitted. “Such a small thing but wish we would have had that!”
