AFTER 18 years of being together, Troy Montero finally proposed to Aubrey Miles.
The celebrity couple shared the happy news on their Instagram accounts on Wednesday where they posted a series of photos riding a kayak during their vacation in Boracay.
“Together 18 years. Engaged 8 hours. Here’s to forever with you!” wrote the 44-year-old hunk.
Showing off her diamond ring, Miles captioned, “Woke up to this forever happiness. I’ve always known it’s him. Yesterday, I realized how exciting it is to get engaged and wearing a ring on my left hand.”
“It’s too beautiful not to share this. If you know how it went down? I said ‘ Thank you and YES!’ Lol pag kita ko sa ring napa thank you muna ako bago yes (Lol, when I saw the ring, I said thank you first before saying yes),” the 40-year-old added.
Both their families and friends were quick to congratulate the two in the comments section such as Iza Calzado, Marc Nelson, KC Montero, Mariel Padilla, Daniel Matsunaga, Phoemela Baranda, Dominic Roque, Gretchen Ho, Franco Laurel, Meg Imperial, Sam YG, among many others.
It was in June 2021 when Miles and Montero revealed in a YouTube vlog that they were planning to hold an intimate wedding in Batanes back in April 2020, but decided to cancel it because of the pandemic.
“That’s my dream place. It was going to happen on April 23, 2020. We were going to stay in this nice hotel in the middle of the cliff. It’s a rock hotel. Yun yung mga plano. Meron na kaming wedding planner there and photographer, may video, and ang mag-we-wed sa amin dun dapat yung mayor ng Batanes (That was the plan. We had a wedding planner and a photographer, and video and the mayor of Batanes was supposed to wed us),” they shared in the vlog.
They also shared that they even ordered wedding bands from Hong Kong more than a year ago. “I feel bad because we also ordered the wedding bands which are right here. By the way, wala kaming engagement ring (we didn’t have an engagement ring) because we went straight to the point. We picked this out January,” Miles revealed.
According to them, for years people have been urging them to get married, but they said that it wasn’t on their “list.”
“We always say, it’s going to happen. Just because we know it’s going to happen and we’re not really in a rush. But it’ been almost two decades so last year we’re going to do it, not because of the people asking us to do it but because we wanted to na talaga (really),” Miles said.
“We were satisfied with our relationship. Everything that we want gusto namin and yung wedding is not really on our list before. Hindi talaga siya yung nasa wish list namin kapag may mga list sa relationship because ganun talaga kami mag-isip (we like and the wedding was not really on our list before. It was not really on our wish list if ever there was one because that’s how we think),” she added.
Miles and Montero started dating in 2003 and currently have two children together – Hunter Cody, 13, and Rocket, 3. On the other hand, the actress was 23 years old when she gave birth to her son named John Maurice from a previous relationship.
