The wedding procession of a bride in Bhopal has taken the internet by storm. The bride, Bhawna, of Bairagarh township insisted that she would marry only if she was allowed to take out her baraat, a celebratory wedding procession that generally celebrates the arrival of the groom to the wedding venue.

The father of the bride was initially reluctant to take out the baraat of his daughter fearing how his relatives and community members would react but Bhawna, the bride, was consistent with her stand that she would not marry if her baraat is not taken out like that of a groom.

“I told my father that I would not marry if my baraat is not taken out like that of a groom so he agreed and I don’t think any girl has got married like this before in Bhopal,” Bhawna told India Today while grooving to popular Bollywood songs dressed in her bridal attire.

Bhawna’s baraat took a round of the Bairagarh township with her relatives and community members accompanying her as baraatis. She sat on the bonnet of an open gypsy and danced to popular Hindi film songs.
