A bride and bridesmaids’ custom wedding Crocs are turning heads, dividing the Internet on the topic of wearing them for a wedding.

One viewer simply defended the woman against negative comments. “Let her be happy, it’s her wedding,” they said. “No need for all this hate.”

According to The Knot, based on their survey of around 15,000 couples married in the United States in 2021, the average cost of a wedding with a ceremony and a reception equates to $28,000, and it costs $34,000 if you count the engagement ring. This comes out to the same amount for the cost of a 2019 wedding as well.

The series of TikToks began with a clip captioned, “Bridesmaid shoes” with the checkmark emoji along with a few hashtags: “#boostofhope #weddingtok #crocinandrockin #weddingthings.”

The video with 3.5 million views started with music playing along in the background as TikToker @Simplytaralynn filmed pairs of white knock-off Crocs all in a row.

The TikToker, who shared the first video on January 9, also had on Crocs as well as the camera captured another woman putting rhinestones on the Crocs. Next, the creator zoomed in on a white shoe with rhinestones already attached to the movable heel.

There’s another shot of the woman putting rhinestones on more Crocs as the video continued. Another look is given to some completed Crocs that are bound for getting sprayed with silvery sparkles outside.

Finally, the completed Crocs, which have all been sprayed with sparkles, sit side by side as the TikToker got a good look at the completed footwear.

In another video with 183,000 views shared on January 18, it highlighted the TikToker’s “bridal Crocs” being created, and a woman sat on the ground as she put rhinestones all over the top of a pair of white Crocs while holding glue in her other hand.

The TikToker also showed the woman continuing to work as well as a look at herself. Finally, the Crocs were finished with the rhinestones all set.

Then on January 31, the Internet received a glimpse of the bride and her bridesmaids wearing the custom-made Crocs for the wedding. In the nine-second video, the bride in her wedding dress, along with her bridesmaids in their own dresses, sported the white Crocs on the special day while outside.

Accompanied to music, the women stand in their formal wear. Viewers could see all of the shoes together with the women side by side with one foot out each for the moment.

“The wedding Crocs,” the video is captioned, receiving over 35,000 likes so far.

The viral video showcasing the bridesmaid’s Crocs received over 467,000 likes with 3,900 comments, and it has people divided over wearing Crocs for a wedding occasion.

Some weren’t into the idea of wearing the footwear to such an event. “Tackiest thing I’ve ever seen,” a TikToker wrote.

While others don’t like the look of the shoes. “Nope…” a TikToker added. “Not even kinda. Crocs are the ugliest shoe in history.”

Some people didn’t like the silver spray paint used on the Crocs either, noting that in the comments. “They were cute until whatever that spray job was,” a TikToker weighed in.

Although one viewer thought it was a “cute idea,” they added, “I would never Lol.” The TikToker and creator replied back saying, “Thank you! I kinda wish we didn’t do the silver, but it’s just for a picture, so they look fine Lol.”

However, many people rallied around the bride’s decision. One viewer supported the TikToker for wearing the Crocs.

“No one will see them under the dress, and Crocs are so comfy, y’all hating don’t own a pair,” the viewer said. “I got a pair for ‘the house,’ and now I wear them everywhere.”

A TikToker thinks the video will be a great memory to look back on. “Some people spend so much on weddings to impress other people and why?” they asked. “This would be so fun to look back on.”

Some are completely in support of the shoes and their unique use. “Comfortable shoes at a wedding for once?” a user asked. “Yes!”
