Edmonton begins ‘Reimagine’ plan to recover from COVID-19 financial hit

The City of Edmonton is beginning the first stage of its so-called Reimagine plan in an attempt to recover from the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan was first revealed in July and was designed to look at ways to continue building a healthy, prosperous city, while working to balance the budget. AHS says website issues resolved as Alberta begins Phase 2A of COVID-19 vaccine rollout

Alberta Health Services said its online booking system for COVID-19 was back up and running late Monday morning as the province moved on to Phase 2A of its immunization rollout. Over 31,000 Alberta seniors get first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 291 new cases identified Monday

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health said more than 31,000 eligible Alberta seniors have received their first doses of COVID-19 vaccines, less than one week after Phase 1B of eligibility opened up. Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Monday that to date, more than 235,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered and more than 88,000 Albertans have been fully immunized. Alberta COVID-19 vaccine booking site experiences ‘very high volumes’ as appointments open to those 75 and older

As anticipated, demand for COVID-19 vaccination appointments for Albertans 75 and older was extremely high when bookings opened Wednesday morning. Alberta Health Services opened its phone lines and online vaccination booking tool for community seniors born in 1946 or earlier at 8 a.m.  Within minutes, Albertans began reporting issues with the site crashing or not loading, and a busy signal when calling 811 to book appointments.
