China says US ‘oppressing’ Huawei with ‘national security risk’ label

China on Wednesday demanded Washington stop “oppressing Chinese companies” after U.S. regulators declared telecom equipment suppliers Huawei and ZTE to be national security threats. Okanagan student wins gold at national website design competition

An Okanagan student topped the field this week at a national website design competition. Aidan Eglin, a Grade 11 student at Pleasant Valley Secondary School in Armstrong, competed in the technology division at the Skills Canada event in Halifax. His website entry on a maritime seafood restaurant was judged the best of all the national competitors. The City of Edmonton has redesigned its website to have a responsive design, which will resize to fit any size screen. This is what it looks like on a smartphone.

A new week brings a new look to the City of Edmonton’s website, which received a big update on Monday. “Today, 60 per cent of our visits to the website are from smartphones or tablets. Therefore, it only made sense for our website to be mobile friendly,” an explanation of the change said. The City of Edmonton has redesigned its website to have a responsive design, which will resize to fit any size screen. This is what it looks like on a smartphone. EDMONTON – A Strathcona County business owner says his company’s website was hijacked by the web design company he hired to maintain it, and he’s losing business as a result. Rick Potts is the owner of Advance Track Setting Systems, a company that makes grooming equipment for cross country skiing. As a part-time, seasonal business, Potts says he relies on his website to stay afloat. “I probably get 98 per cent of all my customers through the web.” At least that was the case until a couple of months ago, when Potts says his site was taken over by TRi-D-FX.
