Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan details real-life wedding setbacks

Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan has opened up about setbacks in her wedding to fiancé Dan Acraman.

The Lydia Chambers actress has been engaged to pilot Dan since 2018, though they’ve suffered of a number of wedding issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a new Instagram Stories post, Rebecca updated fans on where things are at, admitting the couple are “back to square 1”.

“2nd time trying to plan my wedding!” the actress captioned a selfie. “The first one was cancelled due to COVID so we are back to square 1!”

She then added: “No date, no venue and still wanting to get married this year. I wish I was an organised person.”

Rebecca also spoke to Lorraine last week on her wedding plans, echoing her latest sentiments as she told the presenter: “We were supposed to get married two years ago, but COVID hit.

“So we’re back to square one now really – looking for a venue because we couldn’t change the date. I’m hoping, we’re hoping to still get married this year, but we haven’t planned anything so I need to see how it goes and get on it really.”

On the same show, Rebecca also spoke on her character Lydia on Coronation Street, admitting there is “a lot of hate out there” for her amid her scheming to break up Adam Barlow and Sarah’s marriage.

“I’m quite hated at the minute… let’s just say,” the star said. “I suppose I’ll take it as a compliment. Yeah, but there’s a lot of hate out there for Lydia because she is a terrible character.

“I mean, I sat there watching it and obviously I read the scripts and it’s me that’s doing them, but when you sit back and actually watch it you go [shocked noise].”
