When a couple found their wedding plans foiled by the recent snowstorm, they set their sights on a new location to hold their nuptials: a brewery.

The couple, identified only as Nick and Shaunie, found out early Tuesday morning that their original wedding venue had fallen through due to the heavy snowfall from the day before. The couple then called Ursa Minor Brewing to see if they could use their brewery for their ceremony.

“We got a call around 8 o’clock this morning from them because their original venue wasn’t accessible due to snow,” said Ben Hugus, owner of Ursa Minor Brewing. “They were wondering if they could still get married here at our taproom, which we thought was pretty cool so we said ‘Sure! Why not?'”

Hugus said the brewery worked to clear off their patio under their music shelter, cleared away all the snow from their fire pits and made the area look presentable for the couple. The wedding party gathered between the fire pits outside, then went inside to take photos and drink a few pints.

According to Hugus, Nick and Shaunie had visited the brewery the year before and thought the patio was a pretty location.

“That they thought of us when their desired wedding venue fell through was very flattering,” Hugus said. “I don’t think we’ve ever had an official wedding here before, so it was a first for us. Maybe we’ll have more?”

The couple, who headed off to start their futures together before they could be interviewed, allowed Ursa Minor to share their photos and story to their social media pages.
