DAVAO City Anti-Scam Unit head Simplicio Sagarino said his office received several complaints against fake wedding packages offered online.
Sagarino said he recently received complaints from six couples who were allegedly scammed by a Davao-based wedding organizer.
He said a letter of invitation has already been sent to the organizer and a dialogue between parties is set on Wednesday, July 6, to discuss the issue.
Sagarino urged the public to always check the veracity and legitimacy of the business entities.
Sagarino also said his office recently received reports that 30 couples were allegedly scammed by a Davao-based wedding organizer, who offered a package worth P65,000 that included the venue, food and bride’s gown.
He said the couples have paid more than 50 percent of the package amount, but no wedding event took place.
