However, last night’s trip to Emmerdale left viewers baffled as they noticed her full face of makeup.

This week, and like any other villager invited to Dawn and Billy’s wedding, Leyla (played by actress Roxy Shahidi) was excited to see the loved-up couple tie the knot on Valentine’s Day.
But as to be expected, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) returned to the Dales to settle some unfinished business with the pair and her plan for murderous revenge ensued.
While Dawn and Billy had no other choice than to follow the serial killer, Leyla found herself at the wrong place at the wrong time as she drove up to the remote viaduct Meena had taken the bride and groom for a sick murder game.

Despite the couple’s pleas, Meena charged towards Leyla’s car, her gun in hand, and shot.
The wedding planner was hit and taken to hospital while Meena fought with Leyla’s husband Liam at the spot she killed the GP’s daughter Leanna, months before.
Leyla was in need of urgent medical attention but was very much alive and on the mend in hospital during last night’s instalments of the ITV soap, while her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) sat restless waiting to hear news.
Yet as the aftermath of Meena’s reign of terror followed, with the police questioning Liam and Manpreet Sharma, Emmerdale fans were puzzled when they saw a relaxed Leyla lay in her hospital bed with flawless makeup.
Many viewers took to Twitter, commenting on the feisty brunette’s glowing appearance, despite her harrowing surgery and condition.
“Loving Leyla’s flawless makeup and lippy, straight after being shot and surgery too”, one social media user wrote.
Another added: “Leyla always looks dewy and gorgeous even when she’s just been shot.”
A third penned: “Leyla has just been through life-saving surgery and still looks absolutely stunning.”
“Bloody hell, Leyla looks well seeing as she’s just come out of surgery after being shot”, a fourth viewer wrote.
While Leyla’s makeup was unanimously praised, albeit questioned, some viewers had more disapproving thoughts about Meena’s fate.
Meena was pushed off the same bridge she has pushed Leanna from, back in July, 2021.
Taunted and angered, Liam lost his cool and attacked the murderer during a heated confrontation – and as he looked to keep Leyla safe, unaware she’d being shot.
Liam initially claimed that he pushed the nurse to her death in self-defence but she survived the fall and was able to contradict his version of events.
The GP was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
But final scenes have shown the police return to Meena’s bedside in hospital, informing her Liam wouldn’t be charged as it’s her work against his and Manpreet’s.
“You, on the other hand, have a lot of explaining to do”, she was then told.
Is this the beginning of the end for the cold-blooded serial killer?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
