GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – In 1902, Harmony Hall opened its doors, 120 years later a Grand Island man is working to restore it to its former glory.

Jose Ramirez first saw harmony hall when he was driving by it, that’s when he contacted the owner and made an offer to buy the hall and renovate it.

On Tuesday, July 26, he made another step towards making his plans a reality as the grand island city council voted to change the land use so Ramirez could use the plot of land for an all-inclusive wedding venue.

Ramirez told Local4 News he’s looking forward to what the renovation process holds.

“It’s little bit of the history, and the challenge of restoring it,” Ramirez said “I usually restore old houses, flip them, make a live out of them that way, but it just was the challenge and the size of it. I’m up for it.”

Ramirez hopes if all goes to plan he’ll be done with the renovations in spring of 2024.
