Posting to the venue’s TikTok, Lindsey, the owner of Lady Bird Farm in North Carolina tells happy couples to take a moment to just hide from everyone and take in the event and the fact that all these people have gathered in celebration of the love you share.

She describes this as “the biggest and most cherished piece of advice” she can give for your wedding day, adding “if you do this you will not regret it.”

Lindsey says: “Once you are married and have completed all the traditional tasks the wedding day brings like cocktail hour, dinner, toast, cake cutting, formal dances, dance party,” you should then “ditch your wedding.”

Although she clarifies that she doesn’t mean literally leave and not come back, saying: “Once you are well into your dance party, you and your partner [should] step far away from your reception venue where you cannot be found but your beloved friends and family are in sight.

“I want you two to hold hands and look off in the distance at your friends and your family and take it all in,” she adds.

“That very moment is going to be so surreal for the both of you and I can guarantee you that very moment will be cherished for many many years to come.”

Other TikTok users agreed that this creates a very special moment, with one commenting: “We did this! And our photographer caught photos of us. They are the sweetest photos of the night.”

Another added: “My husband and I walked off to the garden of the Church and sat and talked. Still remember it clearly in the rush of the day 13y ago.”

One even went a bit further than just out of sight: “Me and my husband did this. We looked at each other and were like ‘wanna go get fast food?’ and I told my mom and left. My favourite memory.”
