The soul-stirring scene began when two powerhouses joined forces for a leadership training project. Paired to do a presentation for the operations manager role at their company, it was all business at first until the sweet combination of leisure and pleasure entered the chat. Hand-in-hand, heart-to-heart, these partners branched out to form an unbreakable bond, becoming husband and wife. Here is the love story of Stephanie Graham and Le’Quain Brooks.
“I immediately realised she was the one from the first day I set eyes on her – the way she carried herself and the way she spoke. She is supersmart, fearless, selfless, and so beautiful,” Le’Quain told Island Wedding. Stephanie expressed similar sentiments, noting that the moment they met, she discovered that he, too, was selfless and was the epitome of kindness.
For some, first dates can be an awkward experience; not for Le’Quain and Stephanie. They went to the now-closed A-Bar Restaurant and Lounge in Springs Plaza and recalled having the time of their lives. “It was a pretty cool date as we were just getting to know each other. We had drinks, we laughed, and we had a lot of fun,” she shared.
Four months and four dates later, Le’Quain decided to take things to the next level. By then, this gallant king had fallen in love with the queen reigning before him. Caring for him much deeper than he could have imagined and supporting his dreams in every way possible was all the motivation he needed to continue on the path of sparked romance. “She was the first person I wanted to share my stories with. And I found myself daydreaming about her. I started to care about the things she cared about. I wanted to do better because of her,” he said.
ROYAL TREATMENT
Stephanie remains mesmerised by her beloved’s charm and appreciates how much he supported and believed in her. The way he looked at her and the royal treatment he gave her was second to none.
“He helps me to stay grounded mentally, and all the goals that I’ve accomplished, he was holding my hand right through the entire process, keeping me motivated and reminding me every day that anything is possible,” she said.
In addition to her captivating beauty, Le’Quain continues to marvel at how reliable, supportive, authentic, and caring his darling is. “She’s the first person I turn to for anything, and she never hesitates to provide comfort, companionship, and exceptional advice. My tower of strength on bad days, she reminds me that anything is possible. She’s thoughtful, shows appreciation for all the little things, and she makes me happy.”
Seeing how devoted he was to his family and hers, Stephanie knew that Le’Quain was the one she wanted to spend forever with. The feeling was mutual for her partner, so after a year of courting, he asked the love of his life if she could do him the honour of being his wife.
A few months before he popped the question, Stephanie had shown her husband-to-be her dream wedding ring in a jewellery store. So Le’Quain made it his point of duty to make her wishes come true. The intimate event saw his sister assisting with the proposal planning. With his wife-to-be out for the entire day, he transformed the home into a cosy romantic oasis. “I went and got rose petals, champagne, chocolate, candles, balloons, and a big beautiful teddy bear. I then prepared a three-course meal, lit the candles in our dining room, placed the flower petals on the table and some on the ground, and placed the balloon decor around the table,” he shared.
When Stephanie arrived home, she was pleasantly surprised by the candlelit dinner, since he wasn’t the chef, but nothing could have prepared her for the shocker that followed. “I professed my love to her, and she immediately burst into tears. We had a great dinner, after which I told her that something was on her shoe. I then bent down to fix it for her, but I pulled the ring from my back pocket and asked her to marry me,” he said.
Stephanie was so stunned that she remained speechless, crying for close to 10 minutes. Wiping her eyes, she finally said yes. “Every fibre of my being moved, and we both hugged each other in tears. She was extremely happy that I got her the ring she wanted, and she was over the moon that she was going to be my wife. If I had a chance at life again, I’d still choose her over and over again,” he added.
The engaged duo brainstormed a few ideas to make every second and every minute a magical experience. The wedding was planned by the bride and groom, with the help of parents and siblings. Stephanie said yes to the first dress she saw during her fitting from Unions Bridal Boutique.
On December 14, 2021, Le’Quain and Stephanie were joined in holy matrimony. The Spanish Town Seventh-day Adventist Church provided the perfect location for Brooks’ wedding ceremony. The bride walked up the aisle in a white, lace-back, illusion ball gown with a princess detachable detail to meet her handsome groom, who wore a classic yet suave black and white suit. He was brought to tears by her angelic presence, “I couldn’t believe I was finally going to be one with the love of my life,” he revealed. The celebration continued with a festive reception on the lawns of the couple’s beautiful home.
“My wedding was all I had hoped for,” the beautiful bride admitted, adding, “Everything went as planned and I had the support of my awesome family and close friends and more importantly, I got to say ‘I do’ to my soulmate and the love of my life,” she recalled.
Among her favourite moments was their first official dance as husband and wife. Swaying to their favourite song, For you, by Kenny Lattimore, the newlyweds also danced to Tarrus Riley’s Superman then danced the night away to Usher, featuring Wale’s single, Matrimony.
