Lisa’s beloved mother Cath died from cancer in her arms at the age of 57.

The actor, who plays Mandy Dingle in the soap, said she cant bear to set a date because she feels like the day would be ‘painful’.

However she isn’t in any rush to marry her fiancé as she revealed their ‘lives are great as they are.’

She told The Mirror: ‘I already call him my husband and he calls me his wife. We just haven’t gone down the aisle and got the ring and the paperwork.’

The star revealed whenever they do decide to get married it wont be a big day and it will only include close family.

The pair were previously incredibly private about their relationship, with Lisa choosing to keep Al away from the spotlight until they were spotted together for the first time in public in 2019.

Lisa revealed during lockdown last year that the couple previously spoke about tying the knot in 2021.

Speaking to The Mirror, Lisa revealed that herself and Al ‘got on brilliantly’ during lockdown and insisted: ‘I wouldn’t rule out us getting married next year at all.’

Sharing her vision for their big day, she added: ‘It will be incredibly simple – I love the idea of keeping it intimate, with just our nearest and dearest there and nothing flamboyant.’

Reflecting on her previous relationships, Lisa – who revealed she had ‘stopped looking for love’ when she met Al – claimed she always chose ‘blokes who liked the red carpet’ and being on her arm at glamorous showbiz events that she gets to attend as an actress.

‘They weren’t with me for the correct reasons,’ she said. ‘Whereas Al would love me if I made wicker baskets for a living… he loves me for who I am.’
