Is this the ugliest bridal shoot ever? Married at First Sight’s Kate is left with a terrifying wedding album after being visibly repulsed by her ‘chicken Twistie breath’ groom Matt

Married at First Sight‘s intruder couple Kate Laidlaw and Matthew Ridley’s romance got off to an awkward start during Monday night’s episode.

The blushing bride, 39, appeared visibly repulsed by her partner during the mandatory wedding photo shoot, where he warned her about his ‘chicken Twistie’ breath while showering her with compliments.

It resulted in one of the most cringeworthy wedding albums of all time, with Kate pulling numerous horrified expressions as Matt, 39, attempted to get close to her.

‘Physically, he’s probably not what I’d usually go for,’ Kate winced before the photos were snapped. ‘I think I was more worried about him not liking me. I just never really thought about me not liking him. I wanted to feel it… but I didn’t feel it.’

The photographer didn’t read the room that there wasn’t an instant attraction between the duo, instead ensuring they posed in a number of bizarre loved-up positions to mark the occasion.

‘Darling, come closer,’ law clerk Matt whispered to his bride for one shot, which saw them rub their noses together while Kate’s eyes widened in horror.

‘You’ve got beautiful lips,’ he said, before adding: ‘Sorry about the breath. I just had some chicken Twisties.’

The photographer then asked Kate to sit on her husband’s knee, to which he keenly responded: ‘Like I’m Santa!’

‘It’s time for another bridal kiss for me, guys,’ the eager photographer added, with the pair leaning in for a split-second kiss before Kate pulled away in horror.

‘I feel like sometimes when you’re not feeling that person, it is awkward when they’re saying that,’ she later told producers.

Act natural: The photographer then asked if Matt would swing his bride back in his arms for yet another romantic moment

‘I’m very passionate. Very touchy. I love a good kiss, a good massage and good… sex!’ an eager Matt later told producers.

But Kate reacted the complete opposite, telling cameras: ‘…Just put the breaks on a little, because I can see someone who is nice but I’m not ready for affection just yet.’
