Millions of couples around the globe had their hopes of stuffing cake into their partner’s face in front of hundreds of their family and friends dashed over the last two years.

Millions of weddings were canceled because of the pandemic, replaced by city hall elopements and micro weddings or very, very long engagements.

That’s all changing now., and 2022 is poised to be a record year for the wedding industry.

The trade group the Wedding Report predicts about 2.5 million weddings will take place this year. In 2020, that number took a big dip — to roughly 1.3 million weddings. And George Abrams is right in the middle of the fray.

Abrams is a longtime wedding planner in Arizona with George Abrams Events. The Show spoke with him to learn about all of this, including the bottleneck the boom in demand is creating.
