Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan wedding highlights: Newlyweds look dreamy in pics, Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth spotted

The filmmaker and actor looked regal in their wedding outfits designed by JADE by Monica and Karishma. In pictures captured by photographer Joseph Radhik and his team, Vignesh and Nayathara are seen performing different wedding rituals. From the bride and groom’s entry to their actual wedding ceremony, photos shared on social media impressed fans and celebs alike. Actor Pooja Hegde called Nayantara, the ‘most stunning bride’ as she congratulated the newlyweds on Instagram Stories. 

The filmmaker gave a glimpse of the wedding venue on Thursday. In a behind-the-scenes clip shared by Vignesh on Instagram Stories, elaborate floral arrangements could be seen near high glass ceilings, as well as on the floor. The video gave a greenhouse wedding vibe.

Like Nayanthara, Vignesh was also dressed by designer label JADE by Monica and Karishma. Their wedding attires were personalised with the couple’s names. Sharing his photos from the wedding, the designers wrote on Instagram, “The groom, Vignesh Shivan’s ensemble resonates with the four pheras signifying Dharma, Arth, Kama and Moksha. He’s adorned in a veshti, kurta and shawl – handcrafted by the master craftsmen of JADE atelier.”

For the wedding ceremony, Nayanthara wore a handcrafted ‘vermillion red’ saree by Monica Shah of designer label JADE by Monica and Karishma. Sharing details of the actor’s bridal attire on Instagram, the designers wrote, “The intricately realised tone on tone embroidery is inspired by the carvings of the temples of Hoysala. In a thoughtful tribute to the actor’s love for tradition, Monica & Karishma reimagined Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the sleeves of the blouse. In addition, the Fourth Vow running across the ensemble has been personalized with the couple’s names, symbolizing togetherness, commitment and mutual respect.”

The filmmaker shared photos of his and Nayanthara’s wedding on Instagram. “From Nayan mam … to Kadambari … to #Thangamey …. to my baby ….. and then my Uyir … and also my Kanmani ….. and now … MY WIFE,” he captioned one of the photos. Sharing his solo picture from the wedding, he wrote, “Blessed, thanking the universeee. And our parents”

Nayanthara and Vignesh wanted to marry in Tirupati; but since they were unable to do so, the couple reportedly invited priests from Tirupati to perform their wedding rituals. According to a Times of India report, “20 priests from Tiruttani, Vadapalani, Mylapore, Kalikambal temple have performed the Hindu rituals, which started around 8:30 am. Sharply at 10:30 am.”

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram Stories to congratulate the newlyweds. Sharing their wedding photo, she wrote, “Wishing this beautiful couple a blessed married life.” Samantha  and Nayanthara were seen together in the 2022 film Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Directed by Vignesh, it also starred Vijay Sethupathi.

Nayanthara and Vignesh’s wedding photographer, Joseph Radhik, too, shared the couple’s photo on Thursday. “Just married. Nayan & Wikki. Chennai, 2022… There are good days, and there are days like these – full of cheek hurting smiles and love. Thank you Nayan and Wikki for having us here, you’re literally the best!” he wrote on Instagram alongside their photo clicked by him.

Some actors shared their best wishes for Nayanthara and Vignesh on social media. Manjima Mohan retweeted Vignesh’s wedding photo, writing, “Congratulations. Wishing you both a happy married life.” Aishwarya Rajesh also wished the couple, “Wow, wishing the most gorgeous #Nayanathara and @VigneshShivN a happy married life.”

Actors Rajinikanth, and Shah Rukh Khan, who will be seen with Nayanthara in his new film Jawan, attended the wedding in Chennai on Thursday. Suriya, Vijay, Mani Ratnam and many other high-profile guests were spotted at the wedding.

Fans on Twitter and Instagram could not contain their excitement after seeing Vignesh and Nayanthara’s first photo from their wedding. Many complimented the bride. “She looks graceful,” tweeted a fan. Another one wrote, “Scrolling Twitter and Instagram just for this one pic and for their attire.”

Nayanthara’s wedding look was eagerly awaited by fans on social media. The bride wore a red saree by designer label Jade By Monica. She also wore a pair of jhumkas, stacked bangles, a nose ring and a maang tika to complete her bridal look.

The director captioned his and Nayanthara’s photo from their wedding, “On a scale of 10… She’s Nayan & am the One. With God’s grace, the universe, all the blessings of our parents & best of friends. Jus married #Nayanthara.” The couple married in Chennai on Thursday.

Actor Rajinikanth was spotted arriving at the wedding venue on Thursday morning. He was also part of the wedding ceremony.

Actor Vikram Prabhu posted a selfie with his wife Ujjaini Vikram from the wedding. “Wedding vibe selfie with the Mrs,” he captioned it on Instagram.

Actor Suriya arrived at the wedding venue to bless the newlyweds.
