There is no doubt that a wedding is one of the most memorable events in a person’s life.

A lot of planning and money goes into making it a success.

But the coronavirus pandemic has interfered with a lot of people’s wedding plans.

Some have been forced to cancel, while others continued but under strict COVID-19 regulations.

One such bride is TikTok user Nisrina Sayeed, whose extravagant wedding lasted for less than 30 minutes, all because of her country’s COVID-19 regulations.

The frustrated bride shared a short snippet of her wedding – which looked absolutely amazing, and explained how it all became a waste due to the regulations.

She says the family spent £35,000 (about R700,000) only to have her guests attend for 15-30 minutes and leave with takeaways.

“Thinking about how me & my husband (and my family) spent £35k just to have people leave with takeaway food and literally stay for 15-30 mins,” she wrote on TikTok.

“The original plan was to have the engagement, the Nikah (Muslim ceremony), and then the big wedding reception.

“Long story short, the country’s quarantine rule messed up the entire plan. And then two days before the wedding, we weren’t allowed a buffet anymore and had to take takeaway food. Leaving us very traumatised of our own wedding, what a waste of a nice dress & decor.”

Many users sympathised with the bridal couple.

“I’m
sorry that happened to you, how hurtful. Wishing you and your husband and happy
and healthy marriage,” one TikTok user wrote.

“No it wasn’t a waste, you look beautiful…..so does the venue!,” another user wrote.
