Shivamogga, Mar 21: In a rapid turn of events, a lady killed herself, having been frustrated over the fact that her ling-time lover married another girl on Sunday March 20. On learning about this, the groom vanished from the wedding hall. The bride too tried to kill herself but survived. These incidents happened on Sunday.
Roopa (28), a lecturer residing on O T Road in the city hanged herself on Sunday as soon as the lecturer with whom she was involved in a love affair, married someone else. Roopa and Murali, lecturers in the city, were in love with each other for the last four to five years. But Murali married some other girl in a marriage hall here. At the auspicious Muhurat, when Mural tied the customary ‘Taali’ around the bride’s neck, Roopa hanged herself at her home.
Murali, who came to know of this development, fled from the marriage hall. The bride who came to know of the incident, tried to end her life in the marriage hall. Her parents admitted her into a hospital here. The police have registered a case, and are searching for Murali.
