Nova Scotia announced Wednesday that a total investment of $360,000 has been made to the Elizabeth Fry Society’s Holly House for the next two years in an effort to enhance access to housing and supports. Holly House is a supportive housing facility in Dartmouth operated by the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia. It is the only housing option in the province specifically designed for women transitioning out of a provincial correctional facility. 2 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nova Scotia as new rules come into effect at midnight

Nova Scotia is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. One of the cases is located in the northern zone and is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada. That individual is self-isolating. The second case of the virus is located in the central zone and the source remains under investigation. The province announced Monday that provincial parks are welcoming people affected by the water shortage in southwest Nova Scotia to use their showers and access drinking water starting Aug. 31. Parts of southwest Nova Scotia are experiencing drought conditions amid low rainfall this summer. Province of Nova Scotia awards $29M hospital parkade contract to Lindsay Construction

Nova Scotia announced Thursday the parking strategy contract for the QEII’s New Generation project was awarded to Dartmouth-based Lindsay Construction. The contract is worth around $29 million, according to N.S. government spokesperson Marla MacInnis. This will be the largest health-care infrastructure project in the province’s history.
