In February 2022, The Sims 4 released a trailer of a new Game Pack, My Wedding Stories. The expansion will be available on February 17. In this DLC, players will get the chance to plan their own wedding and discover the secrets of the new World.
Besides the new World, it’s confirmed that there’ll be new interactions with objects and Sims, as well as new Create A Sim (CAS) items. This article summarizes everything players need to know about the upcoming The Sims 4 Game Pack.
New Features In The Sims 4’s My Wedding Stories
The new features introduced in this Game Pack resemble real-life events. This Sims 4 expansion will include many details for a realistic Wedding.
New Residential World
The brand new Residential World in The Sims 4, Tartosa, will be released along with a total of nine Lots:
- Two empty Lots where players can place a new Venue from the gallery
- Two Starter Homes
- Two NPCs Households
- A Vacation Rental
- A Lounge
- A Wedding Venue
There are an extra five Wedding Venue Lots in the Sims 4 Gallery. So if Simmers found that the existing one is not to their liking, there are other options. All the Lots were created by Game Changers.
New Stalls And Shops
The World also has new Food Stalls, like Indian and Chinese, as well as new shops for Wedding attires, bouquets, and cake Stalls. If players travel to the Empty Lot, they’ll see all of the food and clothes stores that can be found next to the big fountain near the beach.
How To Have A Wedding Cake
The cake can be ordered via the PC or, if they want to save money, a Sim with high Cooking Skill can make the Wedding Cake.
There are a variety of cakes like Beachy and Square Wedding Cakes. Additionally, Simmers can choose a Cake Topper to decorate the cake. After the Wedding ends, they can keep the Topper as decorations and the bouquet can be put in a vase.
How To Plan A Wedding
The next part is to plan a Wedding. There are three methods to plan it; using a Computer, a Phone, and the Calendar. The latter is the only method that allows having a Wedding on a specific day, whereas the first two will plan the Wedding on the same day.
Using a Calendar, click on Add Wedding Event, and players will be faced with seven new Wedding related events:
- Beach Party
- Reception
- Rehearsal Dinner
- Engagement Dinner
- Family Gathering
- Wedding Ceremony
- Vows Renewal
The last one is only available for married Sims.
By choosing the Wedding Ceremony, players will have to plan four parts:
- Invite Sims: Bride and Groom, Guests, Ring Bearer, Flower Pal, Sims of Honor, and Officiant.
- Select Activities: Exchange Vows, Walk Down The Aisle, Cut Cake, and so on.
- Select Style: Plan the Bride and Groom Formal Wear and choose a specific theme for the guests.
- Select a Place: Players can choose a Venue or their Home as the location and they need to pick a time for the Wedding.
For the first one, if Simmers don’t know that many Sims, it’s okay. They can ask people around them if they’re willing to be their Flower Pal for example, and vice versa.
New CAS Items
For CAS, The Sims 4 added things like:
- New Wedding Suits and Dresses. Some reflect cultures from parts of the world like the Chinese and Indian Wedding Attires.
- New hairstyles for both genders.
- Accessories Category now has Boutonnieres.
- More colors for old Formal Wear.
New Furniture
In Build Mode, there are a ton of new items that will help Sims 4 Builders create their perfect Wedding Venue. These items are:
- Wedding Arches
- Aisles
- Decorative tables and chairs
- New Elegant White Piano
- Dance Floor that comes in three sizes
- Loveseats
- Windows
- Curtains
- Doors
- Lounge Chairs
- Roof decorative objects
- Buffet Tables
- Fountain
- Toasting Bucket
- Bar
- Tea Set
- Pergola
- Wedding Tent
And a lot more objects to be discovered once the Sims 4 Game Pack is released.
New Interactions
Lastly, for the Wedding Ceremony, there are some new interactions. By clicking on any object, the Ceremony Activities option will come up. It contains a lot of choices to help manage the party like, Take Your Seats, Cut The Cake, Have First Dance, and so on.
Speaking of dancing, The Sims 4 finally added a slow dancing option. Simmers can have their Sims Flirt or Steal a Kiss while dancing. Those with the Romantic Trait will definitely enjoy it.
Aisles have their own options. Players can choose specific Sims to walk up or down on the Aisle. Be it the Ring Bearer or the Bride Herself. By clicking on the Wedding Arch, Simmers can choose one of the four options:
- Exchange Vows
- Exchange Vows and Kiss
- Exchange Vows with Officiant
- Exchange Vows with Officiant and Kiss
All in all, Simmers will soon have the perfect Pack to create their dream Wedding.
