This week our wedding is that of John Edward Johnstone and Vanessa Marie Hall who were married in the heart of the Lake District.
The pair tied the knot at Inn On The Lake in Ullswater and had a wonderfully spectacular service and cermony.
John described how the pair first met all the way back in the mid 90s. Mr Johnstone said: “We first met when Vanessa moved to Whitehaven in 1996. We worked at the same place and had occasional meetings together.
“Then our two boys were best friends in primary school so we saw each other occasionally when picking up or dropping the boys of at each others houses.”
Vanessa said: “John then joined the choir that I was a member of ‘Committed to Rock Choir’ and we became good friends but it wasn’t until March 2017 that we realised we both wanted to be more than just friends. Our relationship development quickly after that and we moved in together in October 2017.”
John had his stag party on a local beach with a group of his friends whilst Vanessa had a virtual hen party due to Covid restrictions.
John then proposed to Vanessa on a windy night by the coast, in a place they say is very special to them both.
Vanessa wore a Olive Floral Embellished Tulle Bridal Dress Ivory, from Monsoon on the big day. Whilst John wore a Racing Green suit in navy blue.
The bridesmaids were Kirsty Devaney and Natalie Kate Hall both of whom were the bride’s daughter. The flower girl was Ava Price, the bride’s great niece.
Seventy guests attended the special day and celebrated at the reception all of whom were made up of family and friends.
When asked to share their feelings on the wedding, they humorously said: “Been waiting for a lifetime for ya.”
