A STRICKEN bride was dashed to her wedding in a police riot van after her limo broke down.
Beautician Alisha Brierley, 23, was left in floods of tears when the white stretch Hummer started leaking oil 50 minutes before she was due to walk down the aisle.

But a group of cops on duty for a football match insisted on rescuing the damsel in distress after her pal Sarah-Jane Clark, 34, asked them to help.
They whizzed Alisha, her mum, bridesmaids and flower girls to the church, rocking up in front of 100 stunned guests and her drain worker fiance Luke, 24.
Alisha said: “I was in tears at first thinking what am I going to do.
“Then Sarah-Jane saw the riot van and went over to see if they’d take us.
“The police were great. They insisted on helping. It’s not quite the limo I’d planned, but who else can say they got to their wedding like that?”
The cops, policing Walsall’s League Two match against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, drove Alisha’s party from Banks’s Stadium to St Paul’s Church in Wednesbury, West Mids.
Mum-of-three Alisha, from Wednesbury, added: “One officer made a video saying ‘Luke, this is your life sentence’ and the camera turned to me. I just want to say a massive thank you to them.
“They were amazing and helped me so much on my big day.
“All everyone was asking was what the hell happened that meant we ended up coming to the wedding in a riot van!
“My friends saw people posting pictures of me next to the Hummer on Facebook saying, ‘I wonder what’s happened to this poor bride’.
“It was a day I’ll never forget.”
