If you’ve ever thought to yourself, wow, is Matthew McConaughey’s luscious head of hair real? The answer is yes! Meaning, no, he does not have hair transplants, despite the fact that the internet seems to be under the impression that he does.

Matthew addressed the ongoing rumor during a recent interview with LADBible, saying “You can go back and look at things like The Wedding Planner and those things; I mean, you’ll see, I was losing. I got a picture: Turn of the millennium party in 2000 in Jamaica, I was looking down laughing, and there was a baseball-sized bald spot on the top of my head.”

Apparently Matthew shaved his head, and then started using a topical ointment on his scalp “once a day for 10 minutes.”

“I was fully committed to it,” he said. “No Propecia, no nothing. It was just manual labor. All I can tell you is it came back. I have more hair now than I had in 1999.” Got it!

Meanwhile, Matthew also said that his doctor in Beverly Hills told him that another doctor was claiming he’d given Matthew hair transplants. “[The Beverly Hills doctor] goes, ‘Can I just look at your hair? Can I just feel it and see?’ I said, ‘Yeah man,’ and he goes ‘You don’t have transplants!’ I said, ‘That’s what I said, of course I don’t.'”

Apparently the doctor then said, ‘I can’t wait to bust this guy’s nut next year when he raises his hand.'”

So yeah. Guess what we’ve learned here is that Matthew McConaughey’s hair is his own and it’s so amazing that doctors are trying to take credit for it.
